500 km of marked out paths, on foot,horse-ride, moutain bike...
and even ballooning !
To explore a country with a large diversity of relief, wonderful coloured landscapes all year round, the remarkable luminosity of the sky, and many perfumes exhaled by the aromatic plants which make the area famous.

On foot

Alpes de Lumière proposes outings exploring the natural and cultural heritage.

The two main paths GR which go across the Alpes Maritimes are :
- the GR5 which covers Mercantour Park above Nice
- the GR 51 which covers French riviera from East to West.

Bike

Between Cavaillon, Apt and Forcalquier a circuit goes over the Luberon National Park , its sweet and luminous valleys.
Between Apt and Vachères, for 35 km, the difference in altitude is 477m.
Between Bonnieux and Apt, one can notably pass along a small road which goes across the famous Julien Bridge .
A brochure "Bike in Luberon" is available in the tourist information offices in Apt, Bonnieux, Cavaillon and Forcalquier, Reillanne, Dauphin.

Rides and trekkings alone or with a group with Haute Provence à Cheval.

Ballooning

From Forcalquier, transfer towards the flight field, preparations, one ot two hours flight.
After the flight: passengers and equipment fetch, picnic, champagne baptism, flight certificate, back to Forcalquier and... wonder.

ASTRONOMY
in St Michel l'Observatoire

In 1936 was built an observatory with 13 cupolas on the St Michel de Provence site, designated as the purest sky in France.
from 1st April to 30 Sept: visits on wednesday between 2 and 4pm.
from 1st Oct to 31 March: one programme at 3pm.
